The World Cup 2011 is here finally , with just 14 days to go for the final frontier to start ,lets analyse the squad declared for the world cup. The opening slot was always with no3 as obvious as it could get with Viru,Sachin,Gambhir. Viru is likely to be the partner of God to open the innings .
At 1 down the obvious player becomes Gauti,Kohli too has been in good form so have an option there.The Middle order then comprises of Yuvi,Raina,Dhoni , followed by the Mr.Sixer Yusuf Pathan !! The department of Spin is lead by Harbhajan Singh and the shocking inclusion of Chawla makes it interesting to see if Coach decides to play Chawla or Ashwin.
The pace battery welcomes ZAK after an injury so which makes the two spots booked by Zak and the other can be varied between PK/Nehra.The squad has variety and will be good to see how does the management cope up with the presence of Munaf too as a back up bowler.The squad does look strong and we kick off our campaign in revenge against Bangladesh on Feb 19.So hope that we win this WC, n say ALL IZZ WELL !!!!

I believe Raina will be unlucky in earlier games. The kind of for Kolhi is in he deserves a place in this team much above Raina,Yuvi and may be even Gambhir.We asked Kolhi to open he played well, One down his form has been amazing and he even did a very good finisher job for the team.

In balling department we must go in with 3 pacers and one spinner..Though 1st game can be exception where we go with 2-2 pace spin attack as Bangladesh wickets are unltra slow kind of tracks...Normally rest games i believe it will be Zak Nehra and Munaf with pace as munaf is good option at depth and bhajji as spinner...Also if we notice we have Yuvi Pathan as a spin option and their recent performance has developed more trust on them with ball..
Also considering venue apart from kotla rest all venue like banglore chennai and nagpur are flat tracks so we may need bowler like munaf who is known to be consistent in bawling on a fixed line and length..
chawla's selection baffld me... if u r gonna play chawla means, bhajji s not gonna b in d team(sinc v can't ve 30 ovrs f spinners) unless othrwis v go in wit 5 bowlrs(which s vry unlikly)... howevr, dey might ve sme spl plans regardin chawla...
ReplyDeleteas for as battin s concrnd, i feel it s a good battin line up wit 8 fightin 4 7 spots, 6 f dem chose demselvs... kohli shld b plyd in d first few matchs, if didnt bat xtraordinarily, raina can b gvn a chnce... selctin raina ll add an anothr left handr in d lineup... its alwys nic 2 ve a prob f too many... yusuf cementd his plce in d 11, wit gr8 knocks... if uv, doni n gam can ply lik dey shld ply, thn no stoppin ind's battin...
howevr bowlin s alwys a wry for ind, unless the pitch assists our kinda bowlin attck....

I guess reason piyush is selectd is coz if just before a match bhajji or ashwin get injurd and its huge turing track where we want 2-2 pace spin attack we will end up having a spinner short for d game...
